We Have a New Print: The Tower Theatre

OKC’s Tower Theatre Est. 1937

Exploring connections to the Tower Theatre in Oklahoma City, Many people from the city have memories of this venue that bring up emotions. I’ve driven by it many times and stopped last winter to take a snap while I was across the street at Big Truck Taco. We now have prints of my painting of OKC’s beloved landmark, “The Tower Theatre." A few of the shows in the pipeline over the holiday at the theatre are “Gimme, Gimme Disco“ on Saturday, December 2nd, “Asleep at the Wheel” on Sunday, December 3rd, 2023 and KOSU Welcomes Liz Phair: Guyville Tour Monday, December 4, 2023. “ Asleep at the Wheel was one of the first shows I attended and I got lost afterwards, heading back to Wichita. Anyway, these are just a few of the shows, so go to the website at towertheatreokc.com to view all upcoming events.

The Tower Theatre opened in 1937 and was where folks went to see movies before VCR’s and streaming came to be. The Tower closed as a movie venue in 1989.
